Sunday School

Sunday School times are from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM every Sunday morning. Children up to four years of age remain in their class all morning. Children from JK through Grade 3 participate in the worship service for the first half-hour and then join together for a special time of active worship, fun activities, Bible discovery, drama, and crafts. The Children's Church time correlates with and builds upon the themes used in the Sunday School time in order to facilitate learning.

Teachers

Our teachers are committed Christians with a love for children. All teachers have received training through our Plan to Protect Program. Most of our teachers have many years experience in working with children. New teachers are paired with experienced ones for effective mentoring.

Nursery

Care is provided for infants from birth to children of two years of age during all of the regular services at Benton. Children are registered and cared for in one of the cheerful, well-equipped rooms in our nursery area. We desire that you may freely enjoy the worship experience at Benton knowing that your child is being safely cared for by our trained, loving volunteers. We also desire to ensure that your child's first impressions of church are positive ones.

Sunday School Divisions

Birth to two years of age:
Children are registered and cared for in one of the cheerful, well-equipped rooms in our nursery area. We desire that you may freely enjoy the worship experience at Benton knowing that your child is being safely cared for by our trained, loving volunteers. We also desire to ensure that your child's first impressions of church are positive ones.

Two and three year olds:
Fun hands-on activities that are centred around the Bible and led by caring, committed, Christian teachers

JK to Grade Two:
Creative games, crafts, stories, music, and small groups all centred around the Bible led by caring, committed Christian teachers

Current themes: Jesus the Saviour, God Made the World, God Made the Family.

Grades Three to Six:
Creative games, crafts, stories, discussions, drama, music, small groups all centred around the Bible and led by caring, committed Christian teachers.

Current themes : Saviour and Lord, One Body, The Family Business.

Curriculum:

We use Life Way Sunday School material because of its solid biblical content and wide variety of interesting activities to meet the varied needs of the learners. Life Way curriculum is based upon the premise that God is the author of the Bible, salvation as its end, and it is the truth without any mixture of error.
