Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
The young adult ministries at Benton provide opportunities for singles and couples from ages 25 to 40 to serve Christ and connect with each other. The ministry wraps itself around six foundations: worship, Scripture, witness, community, missions, and prayer. Each of these is implemented through various activities and venues in the young adult ministries.
The Worship of God
We worship together with the entire church family at Benton on Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. Young adults are active in leading and participating in worship by serving on worship teams, singing in the choir, helping with AV, ushering, reading Scripture, and various other worship activities.
The Study of Scripture
THE WELL, the young adult class that meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, provides a distinct setting for teaching Scripture and Christian living. We use live teaching, videos, and other forms to teach and apply the truth of Scripture to practical daily living.

Our study over the next four months (February to May 2010) will take us through the musings and lectures of the ancient sage who will teach us important life skills and godly wisdom in what it is to live well under the sun for the God who lives above the sun. While on the surface life is "soapbubbles," the reality is that life can be full, meaningful, exciting, and adventurous--and our wise old sage (who is not a carnal cynic) will show us the way.

Small groups form another venue for teaching Scripture. These meet throughout the week in various homes. The groups study various themes and topics, and often build on the Sunday morning sermon with questions based on the message the previous Sunday.
Witness to Our Community
As the church of Jesus Christ in the world we seek to be a people of mission who live out the gospel in real and practical ways in our community. This foundation is still under construction as we explore venues in our surrounding community in which we can cause Christ to be seen and experienced.
Being Community
While so much of life is lived individually, the encouragement and accountability that comes from community is essential for the well-being of God's people. Small groups provide an important venue to come together as community for support, encouragement, accountability, and motivation for the mission of God in the world.

We also enjoy a monthly Saturday evening "fellowship supper" where we all bring food (of various sorts) and we enjoy an evening of just kinda "hanging out."
International Ambassadorships (Missions)
The message of the gospel cannot stay contained in Kitchener, Ontario, or Canada for that matter. Jesus' mandate was to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. As young adults we take this seriously, and look to participate in the international enterprise of missions both by supporting those who go out from among us as well as being part of it through short term mission trips.
Prayer
Prayer is the air we breathe. However, intentional times of focused prayer are critical to being all that God wants us to be in his mission and kingdom. Small groups in particular provide such intentional times for our young adults.
