Young at Heart
The Young at Heart group for seniors meets at 10:00 AM on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August) in Benton's Fellowship Hall. We enjoy a variety of programs that include lively singing, devotional speakers, guest musicians, travelogues, missionary speakers, health practitioners, and others with topics of interest and concern to seniors. It's a great opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy fellowship, increase learning, and conclude the morning with a delicious dinner at noon.
Join us on Thursday, September 13th for our first meeting in the Fall! Jamie and Emily Iles will be singing and Jim Reese will be speaking. Tickets are $10 but visitors are free. Phone the church office with any questions at 519-745-3792.
Waterloo Active Living Clubs (W.A.L.C.)
W.A.L.C. provides an opportunity for seniors to enjoy appropriate aerobic exercise. This program is a joint effort of the Active Living Community Network of Waterloo Region and the Victorian Order of Nurses (V.O.N.) of Canada. Enthusiastic and active seniors meet every Wednesday morning at 10:00 am in the church gymnasium. There are no classes over the summer months, but check back in the Fall to find out when classes will begin again.
Sandhills is a not-for-profit seniors housing project established in 2001, sponsored by Benton Street Baptist Church and Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Come and be part of this vibrant community - beautiful Victoria Park with its many events is within two blocks of Sandhills. Walking trails are nearby as are city hall, churches, library, banks, St. Mary's and Grand River hospitals, community centre, theatres and bus depot.
